Directed by Pablo Larraín

Chile 2015 98 mins.

A meditation on justice and the Catholic Church, Larraín’s darkly comic, but no less angry, film presents the moral dramas of four exiled priests who live together in a secluded house in a seaside town. A cozy monastery home for priests with “problems,” the men have been sent there to purge sins from the past and spare the church from embarrassment. Living under strict rules and the watchful eye of a female caretaker, the fragile stability of their routine is disrupted by the arrival of a fifth man, a newly-disgraced companion, who brings with him the past they thought they had left behind. Golden Globe nominee.
