Directed by Sara Lamm

United States 2017 88 mins. In English

Documentary filmmaker Sara Lamm learned as an adult that she was conceived via sperm donor, a fact that led her down an eleven-years path to (maybe) find her biological father. Charting her path as she takes twelve DNA tests, searches five ancestry databases, identifies one potential half sister, and locates 900 sixth-cousins, THANK YOU FOR COMING is both a genealogical detective story and a funny, bittersweet meditation on love, loss and family.

We are delighted that Sara Lamm will join us for the film’s post-film Q&A and reception.

Patron tickets & passes include reserved seating and access to a post-film reception with filmmakers and/or other special guests. Hors d’oeuvres, wine, and beer will be served after the film.

Patron and series passes grant access to all three of the Peace of the City Screenings.

The Northwest Film Center recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples of this region on whose ancestral lands the museum now stands. These include the Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Kathlemet, Molalla, Multnomah and Watlala Chinook Peoples and the Tualatin Kalapuya who today are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and many other Native communities who made their homes along the Columbia River. We also want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence.
