Vanessa Renwick’s films reveal the hidden stories & secret lives that define our great national weirdness, imbued with the radical curiosity and vision of a true pioneer.”–Todd Haynes. Founder of the Oregon Department of Kick Ass, Vanessa Renwick is a filmmaker and visual media artist who has been creating works for over 20 years. The evening’s program begins with an open viewing of Vanessa’s installation Next Level Fucked Up in the Apex space of the Portland Art Museum.  At 7:30pm North, East, South, West will commence in the Whitsell Auditorium and showcase 11 films spanning the career of this prolific moving image artist.
