The third release in the ongoing James Bond film series—and the third to star Sean Connery as that most debonair of British spies—is a highly entertaining caper which has Bond on the trail of Auric Goldfinger, a mysterious gold magnate with a highly unique method of dispatching his foes. Featuring some of the most memorable scenes and characters in the Bond canon (including improbably named love interest Pussy Galore and the classic title song), Goldfinger is often praised as one of the best “classic Bond” films. From its exotic, globe-hopping locales to action-packed feats of derring-do, gadgets, fast cars–and plenty of witty quips from star Connery– Goldfinger delivers as “great entertainment, (with) all the elements of the Bond formula that work again and again.”—Roger Ebert.

The Northwest Film Center recognizes and honors the Indigenous peoples of this region on whose ancestral lands the museum now stands. These include the Willamette Tumwater, Clackamas, Kathlemet, Molalla, Multnomah and Watlala Chinook Peoples and the Tualatin Kalapuya who today are part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and many other Native communities who made their homes along the Columbia River. We also want to recognize that Portland today is a community of many diverse Native peoples who continue to live and work here. We respectfully acknowledge and honor all Indigenous communities—past, present, future—and are grateful for their ongoing and vibrant presence.
