Dekalog: One

“Thou Shalt Have No Other God But Me.” A math and computer obsessed father, who sees the world built on rational, scientific logic, cannot calculate the appearance of random fate and tragedy. For his young son, he has no explanation to the notion of a perhaps cruel and jealous God, nor can he explicate the nature of the soul. In Polish with English subtitles.

Dekalog: Two

“Thou Shalt Not Take the Name of the Lord in Vain.”  An elderly doctor is presented with an insoluble ethical dilemma. A woman’s husband lies dying in the hospital and she must decide whether to carry to term or abort the child she conceived with another man. Weighing her moral decision, she asks it to be the doctor’s too, demanding that he play God. In Polish with English subtitles.
