July 1, 2019 – July 5, 2019

MON-WED + FRI | 1pm - 4pm (NO CLASS JULY 4th)

Turn the ideas in your head into a 3-6 minute dramatic screenplay.  This class will help you use storytelling techniques to outline your idea into three acts (the classic screenplay format), and to create characters and scenes with depth and purpose.  In the style of a “writer’s lab,” we’ll spend time together at the beginning of each day talking about a particular aspect of screenwriting, such as writing dialogue, creating transitions and building momentum.  Then class members will have individual writing time in class to develop their own ideas for sharing and instructor feedback. We’ll also discuss the idea of “producability” (what it would actually take to film it) and share some tips for filming it on your own (if you dare).

Enrollment limit: 12
