Looking to put some animation mojo into your creative practice? Come try your hand at some of the methods and techniques of stop-motion. Using a DSLR camera and Dragonframe software (provided), explore basic concepts of animated motion and experiment with a variety of dimensional animation approaches. The class will feature hands-on fabrication and animating sessions, screenings of technique samples, group feedback and individual coaching. Create a series of short animated sequences in different styles and have the option to expand one or more into a longer individual project. The class will also visit a local stop motion animation facility.

Composition, shot framing, use of color and detail
Animating everyday objects
Straight-Ahead vs. Key Frame motion design
Making and animating flat puppets
Basic foil and wire puppets
Get Instructor feedback and coaching for your work
Tuition includes access to Film Center stop motion stations.
Students to provide their own basic tools (scissors, pliers, etc.) at estimated cost of $30-$65.
