June 29, 2020 – July 2, 2020
MON-THURS| 8:45 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Location: Classes & Admin Offices
Please note: last year this camp was called DIGITAL MOVIEMAKING
Quiet on the set! We only have 5 days to work together to get an entire scripted movie ‘in the can’ and ready for the big screen. To get started we’ll talk about movie crew roles and how the team is a mighty machine when it comes to pulling off challenges like this one. We’ll learn the basics of operating professional digital video cameras, lights and microphones, and about creating sets, directing actors, recording sound and editing scenes together. A provided script will have a healthy amount of humor and several sci-fi-inspired moments where we can apply special effects wizardry. Everyone will have a chance to try out a variety of technical positions and leadership roles. For those so inclined there will be opportunities to perform in front of the camera, as well as behind it. The class culminates at 2:30 on Friday with a free family screening, complete with popcorn. The finished masterpiece will be uploaded to a class online video album for sharing far and wide.
Tuition includes all equipment and supplies.
Technology: Canon XA-15/XA-20 cameras, Rode NTG3 microphones, Adobe Premiere editing software
