LIBBY, MONTANA
Doug Hawes-Davis/missoula, MT
Nestled below the rugged peaks of the Northern Rockies along
the crystal-clear Kootenai River lies the small town of Libby—an
ironic setting for a town where many hundreds of people are
sick or have already died from asbestos exposure. The Environmental
Protection Agency calls Libby the worst case of community-wide
exposure to a toxic substance in U.S. history. As residents
see their family members and friends contract deadly diseased,
the company responsible for the toxic mess leaves town and
declares bankruptcy. A small, unlikely group of citizens comes
together to fight for their town and find themselves at odds
with local politicians, governor, senators, an international
corporation and even their own friends and neighbors. As emotions
fly solutions are hard to find in this disturbing, yet strangely
humorous true drama. (125 mins.)

EVIL CULT - ROB TAYLOR
Neil Stryker is a wanderer with a bad attitude whose run ins
with and evil cult gives him a crash course in mind control
and murder. Stryker finds himself with just one option –
to fight for his life in a grizzly bloodbath or epic proportions.
Paying Homage to the films of [pre-lord of the rings] Peter
Jackson and [pre- Spiderman] Sam Raimi, Rob Taylor has fashioned
a campy, over the top cavalcade of gory special effects and
groan-worthy oneliners. During the show, raise your glass
in a toast to gratuitous violence with beverages provided
by Sierra Nevada Brewing Company. 21+ (ID required).
